Data Center Engineer / Telematik Techniker

Data Center Engineer vacancy for our Zurich based client in the Banking sector.

Your tasks:

• Installing servers, network switches, storage devices, and other data center hardware according to project specifications and client requirements
• Planning, installing, and managing data center cabling, including fiber optic, copper, and power cabling, and organizing infrastructure layouts
• Troubleshooting and repairing hardware and connectivity issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operations
• Integrating new hardware into the existing data center environment and managing data center interconnects, in collaboration with network, security, and system administration teams
• Maintaining detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and hardware inventory using data center management tools
• Providing technical support to clients and internal teams, conducting end-to-end tests for connectivity issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards

Your experience/knowledge:

• 3+ years of experience in data center installation and maintenance, along with a strong knowledge of server hardware, storage solutions, and networking equipment
• Proficiency in cable management, including fiber optics and structured cabling
• Familiarity with data center infrastructure management, as well as basic understanding of power distribution units, uninterruptible power supplies, and cooling systems
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+ or CISCO CCNA are advantageous
• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience with an apprenticeship in Telematics or Electrical fields
• Language skills: English – fluent
