Our Goals
We want to commit ourselves – every day anew – to a better community at our workplace and, through our actions, not only be profitable in business terms, but also give something back to our employees, to society as well as to the environment, in order to ultimately achieve a positive sustainable effect.
How we do that exactly:
We take care that everyone can work at the best health conditions.
We do everything possible to ensure that the individual is always respected and that everyone respects the rights and dignity of others.
We want to develop everyone’s talents, unlock skills and potential, and encourage communication and open dialogue by adopting an “open door” policy.
We promote diversity and equal opportunities in our company.
We are committed to reward individual achievements and contributions to the success of the RM Group.
“Happiness is the only thing that doubles when you share it“
We are pleased that we are growing steadily as a company and can proudly say that this year is by far our best fiscal year since our founding in 1998. In 2022, we not only met our goals, we exceeded them by a significant margin. Donating money is a privilege to us. We are convinced that if you have the opportunity to donate, you should take it, because happiness does not only come from what we get, but also from what we give. At RM Group, we consider active support to be an integral part of our corporate DNA and so we focus our support on enabling quality education, equality and decent work.
Monetary donation for those affected by the Ukraine war
Our most recent donation benefited Ukraine. In order to provide immediate aid, we made an initial donation and additionally doubled the donations of our employees, i.e. those of internal employees as well as those of our contractors by the same amount.
Monetary donation for the project “NCD” in Zimbabwe
In countryside of Zimbabwe, there is hardly any medical help for those affected by diabetes and high blood pressure. SolidarMed therefore supports rural health facilities in Masvingo province to improve medical care for people with diabetes and high blood pressure. SolidarMed contributes to the necessary equipment (e.g. blood pressure and blood glucose meters), medicines and medical consumables.
Monetary donation for the project “WASH” in Tanzania
Rural healthcare stations in the distant districts of Malinyi and Ulanga (Morogoro region) in Tanzania often have no water during the day because they do not have their own water point. SolidarMed is therefore improving the water supply of eight particularly neglected health stations by building one fountain each with a solar pump and water tower. The existing sanitary facilities are renovated and supplemented with new installations to meet the needs of the different patient groups (e.g. separate toilets for men and women).
Monetary donation for the project “ASHA” in India
HIV-affected people in India are exposed to great stigmatization and are often excluded from society. SolidarMed is committed to helping children, adolescents and their parents affected by HIV and poverty in Hyderabad, India’s fourth largest city. Financial support helps to ensure that those affected receive health and psychological care and that children and young people have access to schooling and vocational training.
Use of office space for ASET e.V.
The association “Interkulturelles Atelier ASET e.V. Berlin – Brandenburg” supports refugees from Africa in their integration in Berlin. Since the war in Ukraine this year, the association is committed with all available means to welcome African war refugees who studied in Ukraine now in Germany, to take them in and to help them to orientate themselves in Germany and to organize their life in the foreign country in the best possible way.
We think the goals of the association are great and we are heartly pleased that we could be a support to these people by making a part of our office available for them free of charge in 2022.
Use of office space for the ReDiSchool in Berlin
In 2022, we made part of our premises available to ReDiSchool Berlin free of charge. Due to the move to a smaller office in February 2023, this is unfortunately no longer possible. Nevertheless, we are happy that we could temporarily contribute to relieve the Tech-School from rental costs and let them focus on their non-profit goal of promoting the social and professional integration of refugees and newcomers in need of protection.
ReDiSchool offers free digital training (digital literacy, web development, software development, digital design, etc.) led by volunteers. Currently, courses are offered in Ukrainian for children and their mothers, and more courses are planned that focus on Ukrainian refugees.
We believe that in today’s world it is more important than ever to raise awareness about social issues, both in the private and corporate spheres. And we are grateful that we have been able to use part of our premises for a good cause in the past.
We are a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact and are committed to contribute to a better world.
The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest initiative for corporate responsibility and sustainability. As a participant, we must prove each year that we support and follow the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2000 and respect human rights. We joined the UN Global Compact Switzerland & Liechtenstein in 2022. Each year, we submit a sustainability report outlining our ongoing efforts to respect human rights, labour rights, the environment and anti-corruption and implement them in our business processes. This involves not only our own business processes, but also a review of all our business relationships, for example with suppliers, customers and clients. The longer you work for us, the more you will see that all these standards are embedded in every one of our processes and actions. Of course, we are not perfect, but every day we try our best to meet the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.
